School Events & News * Undokai (Japanese Traditional Sport Game Day) The mission of Seattle Japanese language School is “To give instruction in the Japanese Language, augmented by the introduction of culture and history of Japan, and to enhance the learning process.” The winter quarter, students have rich opportunities to experience Japanese culture. In January, students participated in a traditional Oshogatu, or *New year’s Celebration Complete with food, games, and calligraphy. In February, students gave * demonstrations of culture and language, using what they had learned in class. Also, the school celebrated Hinamatsuri, or *“Girls’ Day“. Students viewed the school’s own traditional doll.(B. McKee)
